ACTIVITIES
The Hartley Neighborhood
Association meets the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. From September
through May the meetings at held at Hartley School, 33rd and Vine Streets.
June through August meetings are held at Neighborhoods, Inc., 27th and
Fair Streets. Generally the April meeting is the Annual Meeting, and in
July a neighborhood potluck is held. Every spring the Association sponsors
a neighborhood cleanup. Dumpsters are provided at several locations for
the convenience of residents and often neighborhood garage sales are held
the week prior to the cleanup.
Recent Goals:

Advocate
and use grant monies for park improvements. |

Encourage
neighborhood watch lighting and "Drive 25 Signs". |

Continue
neighborhood clean-ups. |

Continue
neighborhood garage sale. |
|
Provide
incentives and sponsorship for children to read books. |
|
Update
Neighborhood Extra and other media on neighborhood events. |
|
Remain
active on Antelope Valley Plan, North 27th Street Revitalization
and Lincoln Center Police Team. |
|
Encourage
police bicycle patrol in the neighborhood. |
|
Expand
visibility and accessibility of the association to minority groups.
|
|
Provide
for board representation from the Asian Center, Hispanic Center
and Malone Center. |
|
Seek
historic designation for R Street and Wagey Drug. |
|
Continue
to work with the city's Problem Property Resolution Team. |
|
Continue
to enhance the sustainability of the Hartley community. |
